October Favourites

Hey everyone,

October is over and whilst you are all having fun at Halloween parties we are sharing our favourites with you!

Since it's autumn we are all about intense nail polish colors. Here are our most used of October. Maybelline's Colorama in 104 is perfect deep purple. Works with every single outfit and looks gorgeous on all of the nail shapes. The second fave is well known in the beauty community - Tanya Burr's nail polish in Penguin Chic. Although the color on the picture looks quite light in reality it's more mauvy color. Plus perfect quality (with a topcoat they last for 5 days).
Autumn is a perfect time to have some fun with new fragrances. We always love to look at the limited edition of body mists in Bath & Body Works (*link*). Last year we bought those two beauties - Vermont Honey Apple (very sweet) and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin (stronger scent). Also they last quite long, especially on your scarfs and clothes which makes them even more worth a try.
October is a month for transition makeup. MAC's blush in Melba is a perfect product for that. Even though it's a peachy pink color it works fine with almost every skintone. The way we love to use it is with Ecotools bronzer brush. All you need is to swirl the brush over the blush, tap off the excess and dot it on your cheeks. Easy and fast without the risk of creepy, "clouny" cheeks.
You all know we love lip products. This month we discovered the newest addition to Catrice makeup - lipstick in MATTador. As the funny name suggests it's a matt finish (but it doesn't dry out your lips). Also this deep red color is perfect for both everyday and night out makeup. Tip: mascara + MATTador = quick and pretty makeup look (perfect for sleepy heads like us).

That would be all for our favourties. Tell us if you ever tried any of those product. And if you have your own october favourites?

SATURDAY TIP #5 - Get ready faster

Hey everyone,

Guess what? It's Saturday again, which means two of us giving you tips :)
Last time we showed you what kind of eyeshadows will look the best with your eye color (check it out right *here* if you missed it).
Today we want to share with you our fun idea how to get ready faster.

We know, a warm bed is the best place to be, especially right now (we don't know where you live but in Poland it's cold, like really cold). But let's be serious, we can't spend our entire life there, right? ;) So when we finally decide to get up we're left with extremely small amount of time to get ready. Here comes our tip.
Instead of looking every 2 minutes on the clock make your very own MORNING PLAYLIST* (all songs together should take as long as long you want to get ready). Try to add it to your everyday routine. Music will help you get ready faster and you will know song by song how much time you have left. Choose your favourite songs so your morning will be even nicer. As simple as that.
*HINT: Our favourite way to do it is to use Spotify - all you need is WiFi
Not our picture, found it on Tumblr
That's all for today. Do you have your own techniqes to get ready faster? Let us know :)

Makeup & Skincare Haul

Hey everyone,

It has been a busy month! But we still managed to go shopping and found some bits and pieces that we want to share with you. It isn't one of those "I spent all of my money" hauls, only some pieces I either repurchased or wanted to try out. Let's get right into it :)

First thing I bought a couple of days ago are Revlon lipstics in Mauve it Over and Pink in the Afternoon. I have never tried any of Revlon lipstics and I've heard many people raving about them so I decided to give them a try. Also, some people say there are some great dupes for MAC lipstics so that was another great reason why to purchase them. Since I am a lipstick-o-holic I bought another lipstick today from the brand Catrice. It's fall and recently I've been feeling more daring with my lip makeup so I decided that what I need is a bright red matte lipstick and I found the perfect color in the newest addition to Catrice makeup - MATTador

Another thing that I got is a new powder. Usually I buy Rimmel's Stay Matte in Transparent but for whatever reason I am not able to find it in any of the drugstores (please don't tell me it was discontinued). Since every girl needs a bit of powder and I'm almost out of the one I have I had to buy something so I went to Inglot and got this beauty - transparent pressed powder in 302.
Last thing from the makeup department that I got is "an old friend" - Maybelline's Colossal Volum' Express mascara in Smoky Eyes. I'm not gonna say anything about this product cause we already wrote about it in our "Maybelline Faves" post (*here*).
Let's jump onto skincare. Two weeks I posted my skincare routine (*here*) where I wrote about my favourite face gel from a polish brand called Ziaja, so naturally I had to repurchase it, because it is the best for my skin.
You all probably know I may be a little obssesed with Ziaja products (but seriously they are that good), so I got two of their fairly new products - cleansing mask for normal, oily to combination skin that hopefully will clear my pores (fingers crossed!). Another thing that I got is olive cleansing water with vitamin C and what I love about this is that it's in a spray version similarly to all the thermal waters.

That would be all for my little haul, hope you guys liked it! If you want us to make any reviews of the products mentioned (or in general) just post a comment down below!

SATURDAY TIP # 4

Hey everyone,

First of all, we are sorry there was no post on Thursday, but this week was CRAZY busy. Also, we know today is SATURDAY, which means - another tip! As the week is not over for us and we still have tons of stuff to do, today's post won't be very long, but we still hope you'll enjoy it :) Today we want to give you a quick tip what eyeshadows will look the best with your eye color. We all want our eyes to pop and there is no better way than to contrast them with a shadow on our lid. What colors you should look for when you have...?

BLUE EYES

The best shadows for blue eyes are earthy tones (browns, taupes). You can also try a rosy pink or orange, which will contrast beautifully with blue (this sounds really scary, don't worry I have blue eyes and those colors really make them pop).

BROWN EYES

Lucky you! Brown eyes will look good with almost anything, but if you really want to make them pop, try using green or pink eyeshadow.

GREEN EYES

If you want to make your eyes greener look for a purple shade, but it's for a more 'dramatic' look. For neutral, everyday  makeup try taupe, warm golden colors.

GRAY EYES

You can use the same colors as with blue or green eyes.

That would be all for today, we hope you liked this little tip. Let us know if you tried any of them and what do you think of that post "series"?

| Skincare routine | by B.

Hey everyone,
you already know P's story about her everyday skincare routine - if not check it out right here. Now it's my turn ;)

I've always had better and worst "skin-days" like everyone else. Let's say it loud, right now I do have few spots in my collection and there are moments when I collect even more of them ;) But don't worry guys, I'm not the kind of person who gives up easily, so I do fight with these little monsters.
On the very beginning I tried to use every single anti-acne product at once - MISTAKE no.1 (some of them were seriously strong) and did't let them do their job. I've panicked and wanted to achive picture perfect skin after one aplication. Surprise surprise, it didn't work out. But I've learned my lesson and I've finally found a perfect skincare routine for me.*

*we are all different, so something that works fine for me, might be a bad option for you.

1. CLEANING/ REMOVING MAKEUP
Deeply cleansing our skin sounds like a perfect plan but I've learned the harsh cleanser is not really the best idea. It can over-dry our skin and cause oil production (we definitley don't want that). So the best option is to reach for a gentle formula.*  My 2 favourites are Ziaja Antibacterial Curation and Cetaphil Gel - both perfectly remove any makeup and leave your skin nice and clean.
* I'm also an allergy suffer so it's even more important for me.

2. TONER
Step two in my skincare routine is a toner. Bioderma Sebium Micelle Solution for oily/combnation skin is a legendary product that works just perfectly for me. I use it twice a day. Tiny bit is enough to make my skin feel instantly refresh. It's gentle, effective and doesn't dry my skin at all. The only problem may be the price, so I always try to buy it on sales (or during special offers - 2 for 1 etc).

Hint: you can also use it as a makeup remover, but personally I do prefer gel or a regular makeup remover (for a waterproof mascara)
Hint 2: Avoid any alkohol-based products, I promise, they won't help with acne or breakouts.

3. CALMING - THERMAL SPRING WATER
I use La Roshe Posay Thermal Spring Water every 2 days. It's calming, moisturizing for my skin and doesn't leave me with this awful sticky feel. I usually spray it on my clean and refreshed face, leave it for a minute or two and then gently dry with a towel. Perfect for any of you with a sensitive skin, because it does help a lot.

Hint: You can also use a thermal spring water to set up you makeup.

4. MOISTURIZING
This step is extremely important*. My skin is sensitive so I try to reach for oil-free products that don't contain additional ingredients like artificial fragrances etc. During fall-winter season I need to use something really moistruizing - so during that time my number one is AA Cream for ultrasensitive and dry skin. My other fav is Iwostin Purritin Cream for acne-prone skin (not only mattifies but also helps to prevent breakouts) plus hydrates without gunking up my pores.
*(remember, having combination or oily skin doesn't mean we should skip it)

Hint: Drink a lot of water, because it will help to stabilize your natural pH

5. UNDEREYE CREAM
This one is a real must have for me. I need to cover my dark circles with heavy concealers (they are a nightmare for a sensitve undereye skin, as you can probably imagine) so I can't live without moisturizing undereye cream. One of the best (and cheapest) is Ziaja. Love it!

6. NIGHT CREAM
For the night I need a product that is even more thick than a day-cream. This one is an Oeparol Hydrosense (for the dry skin again ). It does its job - great moisturizer and doesn't break me out. Perfect ;)

7. FOR ANY BREAKOUTS
As the last step, I use a tiny bit of this Iwostin Purritin Gel for any breakouts or blumishes. It contains a salicylic acid and mirra extract. It's not a magic cream, so it won't help immediately, but after few nights you will see the difference (bye bye pimples;)

8. EXFOLIATOR
If your problems with acne are bigger than few spots be really careful. Exfoliator is a great way to cleanse and purify, but for most acne-prone skin anything more than a tiny bit of a GENTLE one is waaay to much. I use this one- it's Lirene Face Exfoliator - twice a week and gently massage my skin with fingertips.
Guys, no harsh brushes, don't go crazy :P

That's all for my everyday skincare routine. I hope you've enjoyed ;)

SATURDAY TIP # 3

Hey everyone,

It's Saturday again!! How the time flies, right? Since the week has passed, it's time for another tip for you guys. You know how we all spend hours in drugstores and high end stores looking on different lipstick shades and blushes because we want to match to our skin tone? We all do that. In fact if you want to avoid that what you should be looking at is... your inner wrist. Yes your wrist! Don't be so surprised, it will all make sense in a second.

The trick to know what undertones your skin has is in fact to check what are the colors of your veins. They indicate if you are warm toned, cool toned or neutral. To check it you should stand in front of the window and look on your veins in daylight to get the right color. Now, if your veins are mostly blue it means you are cool toned, green veins mean you are warm toned and mixed mean you are neutral (lucky you!).
Here's a little cheat sheet :)

Second way to check it is with silver and gold. Take a piece of gold and silver and stand in front of a mirror in natural light. If silver suits you best it means you are most likely cool toned and if gold looks better than you are warm toned.

That is all for today's tip, we hope you liked it!! :) Let us if you know any other tricks how to check your skin tones?

BATTLE OF THE BLUSHES - Wibo vs. NYX

Hey everyone,
it's not a secret that we are addicted to blushes. Like seriously, our collection is waaaay to big :P But hey, there is no such thing as too many makeup products, right?
So today we want to share with you 2 great products. We've bought them totally separately and it came out that they are great dupes. Ladies and gentlemen, let us introduce to you:

       - Wibo Blush with silk and vit. E (in nr 1)
       - NYX in Pinched

From the left: Wibo, NYX

As you can probably tell the packaging is quite similar- plastic on both blushes, which make them handy and travel-friendly. But let's have a closer look, because we all know, looks aren't everything ;)

Again from the left: Wibo, NYX

Wibo starts out relatively sheer and natural, but you can easily built it up to the intensity you see in the photo (it took us about 4 swipes), so it's perfect for those who don't feel like experts yet. This vibrant pink color looks really natural on your cheeks, even though it might seem scary on the very beginning. What's more it does have peachy undertone - they match almost every skin tone.
NYX - we don't have to recommend this one. Like all NYX blushes, the quality is really great as well as the pigmentation, so guys, be careful. Tiny bit is enough ;) The color of Pinched is fabulous, intense pink with cooler undertones. In the pan, there are few random shimmer particles, but in our opinion they don't translate onto the skin.

Wibo and NYX blend easily. Both powders are really smooth and finely-milled (love it!) and they don't "dries out" during the day.Wibo stays on your skin for 5-8h, while NYX all day long. And what is more important, they DON'T BREAK US OUT.

That's all for today. We hope you did enjoy our little battle of the blushes:)
